Quality protocol
Every textile lot and every jewelry alloy on this floor goes through the same three-stage check. It is a bench habit, not a slogan: cloth, metal, then wear.
Weave density, dye lot, and hand are read against the mill ticket. Leather is checked for tannage, grain, and edge finish before a pair is allowed on the rail or packed for a trade order.
Jewelry metals are compared with the stated alloy. Settings, clasps, and stone seats are inspected under bench light. A mismatched mark or a loose seat stops the piece here.
Garments and shoes are checked for balance, last, and hardware. Packed goods leave Fosdinovo only after a third pass on stitching, lining, and box. The tag follows the check, not the other way around.
The house
F.S.D. SRL opened in 2024 in Fosdinovo, a hill town in the province of Massa-Carrara, above the Magra valley. The address is Via Montavecchia 4, postal code 54035. Cloth, leather, and small jewelry runs are bought straight from Tuscan manufactories — not through a regional wholesaler who never saw the loom or the last.
That cut is practical: a mill can hold a colorway, and a bench can hold an alloy, for a client who will come here to try the piece. Ready-to-wear for women and men shares the rail with leather shoes sold as pairs and as wholesale lots. Scarves sit with the same dye families as the garments. Jewelry in the vitrine is logged through the assay before it is boxed. Capsule briefs, a visiting stylist in Italy, collection pre-orders, and gift certificates sit on the same desk as the floor stock.
What we sell
Five lines share one floor. The first four are stock you can see. The fifth is the service that holds a mill, a last, or a tray for a named client.
01 — Floor
Day tailoring, evening cloth, knit, and outerwear from Italian ateliers, hung on the Fosdinovo rail in the lots we also wholesale. A shop that buys a short run receives the same dye ticket as a client who tries the jacket in the house. Alterations for a fitting in Italy are booked against that ticket, not a generic size chart.
02 — Last
Premium shoes in natural leather — oxfords, loafers, boots, and evening lasts. Retail clients try the last at Via Montavecchia. Trade partners take pairs or small runs, packed after the hide check. Tannages are not mixed inside a carton; the mill mark on the insole matches the invoice.
03 — Cloth
Scarves, ties, and related textile pieces sourced from the same mills as the garments, so hand and dye sit together. Accessory lots can travel with a clothing order; a capsule client can pull an accessory from the same dye family rather than a separate catalog.
04 — Bench
Small-run jewels in checked alloys, sold from the Fosdinovo vitrine and to jewelers who want a Tuscan bench without a broker. Each piece is logged through alloy, setting, and pack. Trays beyond the glass are shown by appointment.
05 — Desk
Capsule planning starts with a written brief — climate, occasions, sizes, and what is already owned. A visiting stylist can bring samples to a home or office in Italy. Exclusive collections can be reserved before they reach the rail. Gift certificates are issued for a named amount and work against any line. All of it uses the same three-stage check as packed stock.
